Project Structure

Directories

baseline follows a separation of concerns between the client, the server, and volatile application data.

  • client/: Root directory for all frontend application source code.
  • server/: Root directory for all backend application source code.
  • var/: Contains volatile data and build artifacts. This folder holds runtime-generated data and should typically be excluded from version control.
    • logs/: Stores application log files for debugging and monitoring.
    • dist/: Contains the production-ready frontend build output generated by vite.
    • uploads/: Stores user-uploaded files.
  • node_modules/: A folder containing what feels like petabytes of JavaScript dependencies.

Configuration Files

baseline uses several configuration files to manage linting, formatting, database schemas, and orchestration.
