nodemon

nodemon is a utility that automatically restarts your Node.js application when file changes are detected in your project directory.

Automatic Reloading

To streamline the development process, the compose.yml file generated by the baseline installer is configured to use nodemon to monitor the server directory.

When you modify a file within the server folder, nodemon detects the change and automatically reloads the application. This eliminates the need to manually stop and start your server after every change, allowing you to focus on writing code.

Production Usage

nodemon is not intended for baseline production environments. Using a file-watcher in production introduces unnecessary resource overhead and is not suitable for stable, running services. Instead, you should rely on Docker's native restart policies-such as restart: always to automatically restart your container if the application process exits due to an error.
